The BTEC course is a practical science course with an emphasis on the application of Science in everyday life and in industry. Most of the assessments are through portfolio work using a wide range of methods to present the pupil’s knowledge and understanding.

The course is equivalent to 2 A* - C GCSEs.

Every student that studies the BTEC Applied Science will also study either the Welsh Baccalaureate or a course in Barry College.
