Aims
The course provides an opportunity for pupils to develop their musical interests and talents, through performing, appraising and composing music.
Course Details
The 4 main areas of study listed below will, provide stimulus for composing, performing and appraising over the two-year course:
- Music in Wales (from traditional to rock)
- Music for Stage and Screen
- Music Evolution (including music technology)
- Musical Forms and Devices
Appraising
You will listen to and discuss a variety of musical styles, taken from the 4 areas of study – from Baroque music to Rock and Pop
Performing
Do you play an instrument? Do you enjoy singing? Have you ever wanted to be in a band, singing group or orchestra?
You will have an opportunity to develop your performing skills both as a soloist and as a member of a band or group during the two year course.
Composing
You will have the opportunity to create a variety of compositions using the latest technology and recording facilities.
